Beautifully maintained campground in huge ponderosa pines. The only complaint was the camp-host loud barking dog. He was a threat to strangers. Such a guard dog is unacceptable in a public park.

We arrived late and were trying to set up our tent as it was dark. The caretakers rolled up on a golf cart and proceeded to honk at us until we stopped what we were doing and walked all the way back up the path. We were one spot over by mistake. We asked if we could stay there as the reservation hadn’t shown and it was dark. They were adamant about moving us next to a German couple who were amorous for hours in a very loud fashion. The camp over as to separate us stayed vacant. Rules are for a reason but this was an incident where we were not treated with dignity in the least. It was super offensive and trashy for them to lean on the horn to stop people obviously setting up a shelter. An individual with class and something to say, approaches the person to converse with. It was just really awkward because I am an Iraq veteran and I expect a certain level of decorum from all branches of the federal government. They pound it into you. Not sure how the mark was so far missed with those two. Hopefully they will be replaced for a couple their age with manners.

Love the campground, and the hosts always do a fine job of keeping it up. Short season and the best sites are extremely hard to book.

My campsite was clean and had ample room for my tent and car. It was quiet at night with the exception of the crackling of my fire pit and the crickets in the foliage.

You need to release unused prime campsites when people don't show up 2-3 days or never show up!
Some of us would have liked the nicer campsites with electric....Come up with a wavier if they do not show up within 36 hrs of the start date they forfeit the site or something to that effect !! Sites and campground were Awesome a very nice change from the past.
