Zia RV Park

Very nice small RV park right off 40. Staff was super helpful, the sites are large and clean, and there is a dog park and swing set. Great sunset views and perfect place for a layover!

Nice level sites with gravel. Stable 20/30/50 amp electrical service. Stable water pressure. Sewer drops are threaded. Similar to other parks, the sites are pretty close together but they are long enough to accommodate big rigs with ease. You can choose from full hookup to water and electric only as they have a dump station. The park is clean and has a nice pet area and kids play area. There’s not a whole lot to explore around the park but it’s fast, easy and convenient for a quick overnight stay or a quiet weekend retreat.

Booked a night here waiting out some storms on our route, and then booked a second night the next day. Loved the quick and easy online booking and check-in processes, and the fact that I didn't have to talk to anyone while doing any of it. Road noise wasn't bad in my opinion, despite being right off I-40. Neighbors were all quiet, I hardly saw anyone outside. The mountain views and beautiful sunsets and sunrises made it an incredibly peaceful experience. Our cats were entertained for hours watching the grazing cows and birds in the trees from the windows. For reference, we stayed in site 20, which is a pull through site with full hookups. P.S. For anyone with dogs, there is a fenced in area for them in the front of the property.

Pros: easy on/off Expressway.
Cons:
- garbage dumpster was completely overflowing
- no bathrooms
- no overhead lighting in the hook up area made it difficult to get set up when we arrived at night. Also gave the entire place sort of creepy vibe.
- Our site had an apparently dead tree that was just tall and untrimmed enough that you had to be careful It didn’t drag across the top of the camper when you were driving through.
- No hose attached to the water spigot at the dump station.

It does the job. I had to get a last minute reservation due to a failed reservation on the mountain. We got into a water/electric hook-up and had plenty of room. Very peaceful looking out back at the range. Considering how close this is to the freeway, you can’t hear a thing. Would recommend and will stay here again if needed.
