The kayaking was fun but the debris in the water was heavy, the algae was also everywhere. The campgrounds were very nice, the showers were super and clean. This was the 3rd week of August , monsoon season. Quiet during mid week.

while we were there may concern is that they lock the gates into the camp grounds at 10 pm if you go some where and can't make it back by 10 pm your locked out, also if there is an emergency as maybe a camper catches on fire or some has a heart attack or any type of emergency that requires paramedic . this concerns me very much since I an a senior of 73 year old . we have been going to Cochiti for 15 years and never had any problems with people. please look into this . when people are camping the gate should be open unless the camp grounds are closed for the season.

Well spaced sites in Buffalo Grove with water and electric. Gate personnel excellent as are hosts. Beautiful views. Clean and orderly. Campers there thus far are quiet and pleasant. Those with dogs are well behaved. Go often.
