Nor Win Campground

My family has a seasonal site. This is our second year at this campground. Last year was an absolute pleasure. This season has been a major disappointment. The new management is less than helpful and far from pleasant. Every interaction with any of my family members has been disorganized and very demeaning. Feeling like a problem rather than a customer. Very unfriendly the atmosphere has changed amongst fellow campers as well everyone is stressed and dissatisfied. We all feel unheard. Sadly this will be our last year if the current management continues as is. We want our safe haven back. We miss having the cafe on site. We miss the smiles, laughs and friendly faces. We are not paying to add more stress to our lives. I’d rather vacation elsewhere. We are not rule breakers. We appreciate rules. We don’t need to be demeaned. I have also had personal experience with friends of mine being allowed to drive their personal vehicle through the gate. Without permission in advance from us. Without any directions from staff just allowed to enter the grounds. Thankfully they were my friends but it could have been anyone. We have children of our own as well as others on the grounds. Being a gated community was very important to us

When I think about giving any business a review I think the "Good, Bad and Ugly. So here goes:

Nor Wins campground has been my family's summer getaway for the past 3 years. We started our 4th season this year and were certainly caught off guard to hear it had been sold. So here is the ugly...It is not privately owned anymore which can take away from quick and easy decision-making on things that are suggested or recommended. Yup that is the only ugly thing I can really say about the transition.

THE BAD much like some of the other reviews I have read here, is that with a sale comes acquired issues that will need addressing, such as deteriorating playgrounds, needed updates to bath houses, roadways that need repairs, and some necessary tree trimming.....oh and everyone's favorite Power Upgrades.

While the original NorWins website had a friendly inviting vibe it was behind in the times of automated booking etc. If any one reading this knows IT building a website and making sure everything is working on point isn't done at the flip of a switch and even when its been looked at not once, not twice but multiple times some things get missed, if you see something say something don't just grumble on a review. Mother nature had taken its toll already this season as Tree Limbs came crashing down on the cafe during our June Wind Storm.

THE GOOD ok now to my favorite part what I love so far about the 2026 season is the new park managers (Don't get me wrong, I love the old park managers as well and enjoy seeing their smiling faces out at Local Events) but Jennifer and Paul have been absolutely awesome, especially with the transition happening so close to opening day. They are easy-going folks to talk to, joke with and really make you feel comfortable, especially when they make evening rounds and just stop for a few minutes of campfire chat. More activities for the kids, something every Saturday. (Mothers/Fathers Day Craft event, Rock Painting, Kids Karaoke * Pink Pony Club Dad that got on stage with his daughter a memory she will never forget*) The greatest enjoyment was when my boys (14, 13, 11) found out that if they caught a fish and took a photo, it would be printed and displayed on the wall in the camp store! The pride and excitement it brought out in them that wasn't present for the 3 years prior made my heart burst. Or when they updated the pricing on the shelves in the camp store for the treats they built sales tax in, so when a kid walks in with $3.50, they know what they can get, now without additional charges that surprise them. And yes, the Ice Cream Cooler and its variety of sweet treats is my favorite I am sure y'all know :-)

Speed Bumps put in place so our kids can enjoy playing without worrying about golf carts whizzing by.....yes I had to adjust to slowing down as well, but this is supposed to be a family-friendly campground, not a racetrack.

Jennifer and Paul work hard to hold people accountable for their actions, striving to keep the park a family-friendly place to stay, and to be completely honest, they are the reason we purchased a new camper and plan on spending the 2027 season and many more to come here at NorWins.

I challenge you to come visit NorWins campground at least once a season starting in 2026. Rome wasn't built in a day, but check out our piece of heaven in Lyons, NY and see what changes over the course of a season or 2. Be open-minded and embrace change.

Nor Win Camp Ground has been great for us these past years.We have met many wonderful people . Nor-Win is now under new management with Paul and Jennifer. They are working hard on getting settled in this great place. I’m sure starting out, meeting everyone, and getting a handle on everything is a great feat! There are many updates and exciting things happening ! Check out Nor Win for all that it has to offer!! We love it here!

The new owners are fabulous. They are great down to earth people. This is our first year as seasonal campers and the whole experience has been an absolute pleasure. The owners try to come up with different ideas for activities. For the 4th of July they had firetrucks and the Mercy flight first responders. It was great to see them tying in with the community that helps in an emergency. They make sure everyone has a good time. The pool is large and the water is absolutely perfect. My family and I are loving every minute of it. Thank you so much.

I really enjoyed our weekend at Nor Win Campground. The campground is beautiful, peaceful, and a great place to get away from the city. The new manager was so nice and welcoming. She made check-in easy and was always happy to help whenever we had questions. We had a relaxing stay and will definitely be back!
