Always enjoy this campground. Just plan accordingly with the weather, and don’t forget bring bug tents/spray

The grounds at Cape Point were very well kept and the camp sites were large and well spaced. The bathrooms and showers were clean but showed needs for lots of repair, water in the hand sink ran the whole time we were there. We had a great time but we are Ocracoke folks and felt misplaced by the new regulations of only 14 days per season, went ended up riding the ferry more than staying at the campground. We were not fans of the crowded beaches and the crowded roads. Hoping to stay only at NPS Ocracoke for the remainder of our days, old habits of 56 years are hard to break!

WE had great weather over the course of the Labor Day weekend and partial week. We did have a storm but little rain. The campground was quiet and there were a few of us but still very quiet. The restrooms were clean and the ground water shower was not that bad. Looking forward for the next trip.

Lots and lots of sites are always available so you don't feel packed cheek to jowl with other campers. There's ample room to spread out. Nights are calm and quiet with most everyone honoring quiet hours. The campground is well maintained by the friendly and capable Park Service rangers who are always quick to help and offer advice. Beach access couldn't be more simple and Buxton is only a few minutes away if you need supplies or a good meal. Highly recommended!

The campground was great!! Our tent flooded a little at night during the thunderstorm but we knew that could happen! The bugs weren’t too bad and the walk to the beach from our campsite was about 10 minutes!! The showers and bathrooms and nicely kept! Would definitely recommend for a weekend away!

This campground is one I turn to again and again. I usually stay in section A so I have easy access to the beach for sunrise. The restroom is well lit and easy to get to in the dark and centrally located to the first drive of A sites.
