Emerald Isle RV Resort

I have been coming to this resort for many years because of the beach and the prior owner was much more diligent with the property. Now the bathrooms were dirty. There’s no guard at the guard house, my husband got hit by the rail, coming down on his motorcycle, which caused him to hit the black wall and went over. He’s 60 years old. They have an inadequate staff a skeleton crew. The Internet sucks, we had trouble we talked to them. They said it’s been down for a month and a half then they said someone was coming on Thursday but when I read the reviews on here, I see the Internet‘s been out for two years at least, but they keep telling everybody that they will look into it, and they will talk to their people when they have a meeting a bunch of words salad that’s what I say. Having said that we will never stay here again.

The nicest park we have been too in a while. Location location location!!! Not only close to the beach but close to restaurants, and entertainment. All within walking distance. We will return.

This campground is in a great location, right a long the beach with easy access to the ocean. This is the reason we chose to stay here. The downside, however, you are packed into this campground like sardines. There is barely 5 ft between the RVs in the pull through sites. If you stay in one of the semi-circle premium sites at the back of the campground (yellow) and closest to the ocean, you will have a bit more side to side. However there is no room to park vehicles so driving in out of this campground and pulling your rv out is challenging. It does not feel like a gracious site. The amount of people crammed in is very tight.

Additionally, there is NO CELL SERVICE in the back half of the campground. While we were there, the wifi was also out. We were told it would be back on, but after 5 days it still was not working. My husband needed to work from our camper and could not. We had to find a place to leave him during the day so he could connect. The bathrooms were not the greatest either - shower handles not working, standing in inches of water in the dressing area after showering and trash in the showers made it unpleasant. The laundry is nice and clean but costs $4.50 per wash load and $1 for every 10 mins of drying time. This is the highest fees we have ever paid.

The location, however is great. The beach is gorgeous and there is easy access to it. There are sand washing stations throughout the campground and we appreciated this to be able to rinse off after time at the beach. The swimming pool is also very nice and comfortable and clean.

Seemed like every person was smoking, drinking and driving their golf carts around. Had a couple interactions with a few impaired guests.
Went to the beach and had people smoking around us.
The showers were freezing every time.
We will NOT be back. Very disappointed with all the good reviews we read.
NOT recommended for a family vacation.

We loved our stay! The site is close to the beach with an easy access path and a great place to hose off all the sand. Every single interaction we had with the staff was phenomenal, everyone was incredibly sweet and accommodating. The only thing I could agree with from previous reviews is that the sites are tight- but we were directed right to the site and there is enough room just not as much as some other sites we've seen before. The bathrooms were immaculate and by far the best bathrooms we've seen on our camping adventures. Pool was perfect with enough shade and great for young kids. 10/10 from this family. We will be back!
