Campsites were tidy, reliable power and water, staff was helpful, bathrooms were in good shape. WiFi is a little spotty but it’s a big place and Frisco in general doesn’t have great internet infrastructure.

This campsite is excellent! It is a .35 mile walk to the beach, with .14 of the walk on sand. The tent area is spacious, private, and well shaded. We went in late June and there were not many bugs or burrs at the site. The picnic table is not near the grill so we wished we had brought a table or some kind of surface to make cooking easier. It is also close to the bathrooms. The showers are a rustic experience without lighting or hot water.

The host on duty for check in was amazing, kind, and helpful with my first time here. I was early and she was available for questions. I was looking for a shaded spot as I was van camping. When I reserved online it says you can change sites. She was extra helpful and I changed to a great site that I will be returning to. This especially stood out because the man at Oregon Inlet which I stayed at the night before was not available before 3pm check-in. At 3pm I went back and he was chatting away for 5 minutes, talking about fishing and other casual conversations with a couple. I was hot and tired and standing waiting. He finally said - I already checked you in. Big difference. Thank you Frisco host !

We absolutely loved our visit here, and are already making plans to return. The campground was great, and site P012 was very spacious and felt private. From looking at the campground map, we thought there might be a path to get to the B-loop bathrooms, but this was not the case. It is a bit of a walk to the bath houses but absolutely worth it to listen to the ocean every night. Insects were only a problem if the wind wasn't blowing, but the breeze most nights kept them to a minimum. There's also an abundance of wildlife and I quite enjoyed listening to the Chuck-will's-widow's each night. We also enjoyed the deer, rabbits, toads, lizards, and even the small snake we saw. This campground is an absolute gem, and we will be sure to return!

Wonderful campground. Clean bathrooms. Due to federal cuts rangers were scarce, but campsite was clean and quiet. Would be nice if you could add hot water to the showers.

North (From Richmond, VA)
Follow I-95 South to Richmond, VA. Take I-64 East toward Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA. Take I-64 or I-664 to Chesapeake, VA. From I-64, take Exit 291B to Route 168, the Chesapeake Expressway (a toll-road costing $3.00 - $6.00 each way). Once in North Carolina, Route 168 turns into US-158 East. Follow US-158 East through Nags Head, NC to the junction of NC-12 South. Continue on NC-12 South through the villages of Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, and Buxton. Once you reach Frisco take a left on Billy Mitchell Road and proceed to the campground.
West (From Rocky Mount, NC)
Follow US-64 East through Tarboro, Williamston, Plymouth, Columbia, and Manteo, crossing the Alligator River Bridge and the Virginia Dare Bridge. Keep going on US-64 East to Nags Head, NC, going over the Washington Baum Bridge, to the junction of NC-12 South. Turn right onto NC-12 South and you will be at the north entrance to Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Continue on NC-12 South through the villages of Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, and Buxton. Once you reach Frisco take a left on Billy Mitchell Road and proceed to the campground.
South (From Florence, SC)
Take I-95 North to Wilson, NC. Take US-264 East through Greenville, NC and Washington, NC. From Washington, NC, take US-17 to Williamston and follow US-64 East to Nags Head, NC and the junction of NC-12 South. (For an alternate route to NC-12 South, continue on I-95 North to Rocky Mount, NC. Take US-64 East through Tarboro, Williamston, Plymouth, Columbia, and Manteo, crossing the Alligator River Bridge and the Virginia Dare Bridge. Keep going on US-64 East to Nags Head, NC, going over the Washington Baum Bridge, to the junction of NC-12 South). Turn right onto NC-12 South and you will be at the north entrance to Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Continue on NC-12 South through the villages of Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, and Buxton. Frisco Campground is accessible via NC-12 South, which connects to US-158 East approximately 12 miles to the north. US-64 East also provides access from the west, connecting to NC-12 South at Nags Head.

Policies & Rules
General
- A reservation to camp is required. Same day reservations can be made based on availability.
- Camping is limited to a total of 14 days of camping between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Making reservations under another name or account to circumvent the 14 day restriction is prohibited.
- Generators must be turned off during quiet hours.
- Wood fires are not permitted in the campground. Only charcoal cooking fires are permitted in a grill, stove, or other self-contained unit.
- A fire may be ignited and maintained only by using fuel sources designed and commonly used for warmth or the preparation of food, such as charcoal briquettes or natural firewood. Lighting or maintaining a fire with other materials including, but not limited to, flammable liquids, garbage, fireworks, plastics, aerosol canisters, batteries, or other manufactured or synthetic materials, is prohibited.
- All equipment must fit on the site pad, large RVs over 25 feet may have to park second vehicles in auxiliary parking away from the campground, or purchase an additional campsite. Parking on the grass is prohibited.
- There is a limit of 6 persons per site, a maximum of 2 cars, or 1 car and 1 trailer, and a maximum of two tents.
- Biting insects are prevalent in the summer months, therefore netting and repellent are recommended.
- Most campsites are exposed and subject to weather extremes. There are limited sites with shade in the campground.
- The Access Pass and both the Senior Annual and Senior Lifetime Pass are the only passes that provide a discount on the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party. The discount does not apply to utility hookups. The pass discount must be applied at the time of the reservation; it cannot be applied retroactively.
