Or site was great. Bathhouse was clean but several doors we couldn’t tell if locks were locking or not. Went for a hike on the jackrabbit trail and as I was starting I was warned by another hiker of gunshots. I took my chance, heard gunshots annoy 1 mi in, then half mile later came across two hunters dragging their deer carcass along trail back to parking lot. Not the campgrounds fault but be careful if hiking in the area. Tons of noisy kids on both sides of us as well. First campground we’ve been to that didn’t sell firewood.

Beautiful campground along the shores of Lake Chatuge. The only amenity that could possibly add to the experience would be availability of power. Everything is else is perfect!

Site 23A is convenient to restroom. The separate locking shower room was very nice. The campsite itself is disjointed. The parking space is level with the road and would be great for a small camper, however it is about a 100 ft. uphill trek to the tent pad, picnic table, and fire ring. I arrived after dark and didn't see the site; hills to the right and rear of parking space were too steep to get a clear view or climb. I left the next morning before sunrise, but the campground seemed nice. I will definitely be back, but will try to find a more level site for my tent camping.
Note: Since reservations must be made online, the $8 processing fee is a bit excessive for a short stay. Senior discount brought the site fee down to $10, but the processing fee brought the total back up to $18 for the night. No first-come sites at this campground.

I stay at Jackrabbit often because i love the mountain bike trails. It's on of the few places where I can camp and ride my bike from the campgrounds to the trails. The camping is somewhat primitive with no electric but the restrooms and showers are nice , and the lake has a good swimming area. The views are nice and the nearby town of Hiawassee has a few good restaurants to choose from.

Great place as always. The bathrooms at the middle of the B loop (across from 48B) has only had one stall with running water for a while, that was a struggle, sharing one bathroom with most of the loop. The bathrooms at the other end are bigger and better, but further away from most of the week

I do very much like the campground and have been here on four occasions. My primary activities are mountain biking, walking and relaxing in the lovely surroundings.
