Awesome place to spend the day on the river. They have multiple vessels to choose from and different locations for drop off depending on how long you'd like to paddle. Or stay longer and glamp in one of their wagons! They sleep 4 people between a king bed and a twin bunk and have heat/air. The wagons share a private communal bathhouse. The property is close to a walking trail that leads to Lillington River Park. You can also walk to downtown from Cape Fear River adventures.

Been here twice already and enjoyed both times. I plan on coming back definitely, it’s a very relaxing time and worth the money. Can lasts up to multiple hours so definitely bring sunscreen if it’s sunny!

From start to finish, Cape Fear Adventures delivered an exceptional experience! We booked well in advance and everything was ready to go upon arrival. The staff were accommodating and pleasant and all of the equipment was in good shape. As we had 60+ Scouts and Dads, it was not a small endeavor, but they handled our group very well! We will be back! Thanks!

I had an easy time renting a kayak. The young lady from MI who was working was helpful and very nice and let me decide if I wanted a second hour while I was on the river. The current was slow enough to paddle up stream but still fast enough to get a work out. I made it to the Rock Garden, had a little break and got back at 2 hours exactly. The kayak was comfortable and a reasonable price.

This place is an absolute disappointment and I would never recommend it to anyone — especially beginners. It is not beginner-friendly at all, and honestly, it feels unsafe.
The staff are extremely rude and unhelpful. My friend was literally drowning, we were shouting for help, and not a single staff member came to assist us. Strangers kayaking on the river had to step in to save my friend’s life. When we finally made it back to shore, instead of showing concern, Kalen (staff) rudely told us, “this is what you signed up for.” I find this response not only unprofessional but also heartless.
All they seem to care about is charging money, not the safety or well-being of their customers. On top of that, there are no amenities whatsoever — no private changing area, everything is completely open and uncomfortable. For the high cost, what you actually get is zero support, zero service, and plenty of rudeness.
I walked away from this place shocked, upset, and feeling bad. This was not just a bad experience — it was a dangerous one. If you value safety, respect, or even basic courtesy, do yourself a favor and stay away from Cape Fear River Adventures.
