This place is what you call the hidden gem! Or I heard someone say “go to honey spot” The sites are well groomed including the entire grounds.
If you’re into fishing, look no further. The front pond is loaded with bass (catch n release) They also have a trout pond in the back area with some restrictions.
The host is Bob Murray, what a great guy! Friendly and always willing to help. I had an issue with my slide wiring, and Bob came to the rescue. He crawled under my rig and spliced the damaged wire, and taped it up very professionally. I offered to pay him but he smiled and said enjoy your stay while driving away on his side by side.
Yes there are plenty of other camp grounds in Murphy but honestly fellow campers you definitely won’t regret staying here. We’ve been coming to Murphy are for over 10 years, and Presimmon Creek is one of thee best places to kick back and camp for your duration. Let me just add one more thought - yes you might find a camp ground near or close to the Walmart or the casino. But with that comes the traffic and road noise during the busy day. What is camping all about folks? Relaxation and NO ROAD NOISE! Presimmon creek is near the main 4 lane hwy 64 west, but I never hear trucks or cars during our stay it must be the canopy of trees blocking the noise!

This park is immaculate. Very well maintained and the staff was wonderful and very helpful. Even just the camping is really in a pristine setting. The sites are spaced further apart than most campgrounds and all the sites look to be in great condition. When the pond/panning for gold opens up, this campground will be an excellent family campground. Even without those items being open, it is still a great family camping spot!!!

We took a Youth Group Family camping trip to Persimmon Creek at the end of September. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. My reservation needed to be changed on more than one occasion and they worked with me each time without complaint. The campground was well kept and perfect for our trip. It also has great access to the Ocoee River. We will definitely book another trip soon!

Absolutely awesome rv/campground. Met the owner who was so kind and caring. Staff worker went over and beyond helping me with an issue with electricity at the campsite. Facilities are very clean and maintained twice a day. Campground is small and extremely well kept. Peaceful and serene, especially at my site(13) with Persimmon Creek at the back of many sites. Talk about sleeping great? Listening to the flowing creek knocks you right out. Short drive to anything you may need, including: national parks, Ocoee river rafting, Murphy, NC, Blue Ridge, GA. I would give 10 stars if able!! Will definitely be back to enjoy the quiet and peaceful area!!

🌟 A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering
We came across this charming spot thanks to a friend’s recommendation—and it did not disappoint! The grounds were spotless and thoughtfully maintained, with full hookups that made our stay extra comfortable. Each campsite featured a cozy fire pit paired with two Adirondack chairs, perfect for winding down in the evenings. And for dog lovers, the designated “beach” area was an absolute treat—our pups had the time of their lives! Can’t wait to come back.
