Bathrooms were always clean and campers friendly as usual. Quite a hike to get to the beach so be don’t pack too much! Beautiful location.

Campground was in a spectacular location. Lots of paths leading directly to the beach. Bathrooms and showers were easily accessible from any point in the campground. The outdoor shower was a really unique experience. I was pleasantly surprised at how hot the water was. To be honest, it was one of the best showers I have had at a campground. Make sure to take time to visit Bodie Lighthouse and have dinner in Nags Head at "Mulligans".

This is not the fault of the camp ground. We had a terrible experience as the sites are very exposed and some wild weather moved through. Our tents could not handle the strong winds that blew though, and there is no place for shelter.

Great beach access, not far from Ocracoke Village, clean bathrooms, but only cold water for showers. It was raining (heavy rain) during our visit, and there was high water on Pea Island that delayed our travel to the campground. We still had a nice time and took shelter in the places to visit in the village like the visitor center, the Lighthouse, an ice cream store & a restaurant!

Policies & Rules

General

  • All campsites are exposed and subject to weather extremes. There are no shaded sites in the campground.
  • Camping is limited to a total of 14 days of camping between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Making reservations under another name or account to circumvent the 14 day restriction is prohibited.
  • Generators must be turned off during quiet hours.
  • Wood fires are not permitted in the campground. Only charcoal cooking fires are permitted in a grill, stove, or other self-contained unit.
  • A fire may be ignited and maintained only by using fuel sources designed and commonly used for warmth or the preparation of food, such as charcoal briquettes or natural firewood. Lighting or maintaining a fire with other materials including, but not limited to, flammable liquids, garbage, fireworks, plastics, aerosol canisters, batteries, or other manufactured or synthetic materials, is prohibited.
  • All equipment must fit on the site pad; large RVs over 25 feet may have to park second vehicles in auxiliary parking away from the campground, or purchase an additional campsite. Vehicles cannot park on the grass.
  • Biting insects are prevalent in the summer months, therefore netting and repellent are recommended.
  • There is a limit of 6 persons per site, a maximum of 2 cars, or 1 car and 1 trailer, and a maximum of two tents.
  • The Access Pass and both the Senior Annual and Senior Lifetime Pass are the only passes that provide a discount on the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party.
