Nice space between sites, trails are inaccessible due to overgrowth. Within 20 minutes to store and restaurants. Host is lovely and friendly. We had site 11 with a path to the river but no swimming because of oyster shells and mucky bottom. We stayed 4 nights but were booked for 7 left early because we wanted water access and we had the camper infested by tiny bugs after a storm they can swarm from swamps and vegetation.

DO NOT GO HERE IN JULY! It's like being swarmed by bugs in a horror/jungle movie. Most humid experience I've had in my life, like soup. However the campground was very spacious and most sites lead right to the water. I'd go in May or June maybe.

Site 16 smells like you’re staying in a barn full with goats and nobody cleaned up in a year. Definitely wouldn’t ever recommend anybody go there. We got there and decided to drive three hours away just to find another spot regardless of our reservation because it smelled so bad.

Site 11. One of the best sites for the money we have ever stayed. Quiet. Nice amount of space between sites. Lots of vegetation which makes site quite private. Black flies on the trail are ferocious in places and don’t give a care about bug spray but mostly they are just annoying, not biting. Swatting at them makes them try harder! Lovely campground.

I was on the site for less than 4 minutes and a woman approached me yelling about paying fees (already had the site reserved online) then proceeded to argue with me that I couldn’t have because it’s first come first serve only. She then told me I have to provide her all of my information. This is exactly why I don’t stay in established campgrounds and will dispersed camp. It was ridiculous to demand payment in cash (from the “camp host”) for a sight that was already paid for by me online. I will never be back

Campground was easy to get to, sites were pretty level - we were in site 15 which was so easy and really good for bigger rigs. It was quiet - bugs weren’t bad when we went. There is a trail, but we didn’t see any good places to get to the water although the river was beautiful. We ran across a couple of snakes - nothing big or scary, but stay alert.
The only real downside was the bathrooms. Just don’t. Bring your own set up. At night the cross breeze gave us a “lovely” aroma from the bathroom - it was not pleasant. I looked in one day and the back wall was covered in black flies!
There doesn’t seem to be any real way to check in. We saw nobody , and just went to our site.
All in all, it’s a quiet place, and if you just like solitude it’s perfect. For the price you can’t beat it. If you have kids, bring things to do or plan on going elsewhere. We are just 2 old folks who love to be where nobody can find us.

Excellent campground about 30 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. Friendly, helpful site hosts. I had site 04. It has a picnic table, fire ring, two lantern poles (metal poles with hooks), a tent pad, plenty of parking space (I had a Rav4). Site 04 had a lot of tall foliage around it for privacy. There is a water hydrant near the site next to the main road. The campground has a pit toilet restroom that was clean and well stocked with toilet paper (no sink or running water in the restroom). There are no showers at the campground, but the hosts told me where to go for one if I needed. I used Dude Wipes to get through the night.
The only negative thing at the campground was the many tiny sand fleas. Plan accordingly! I would definitely stay at this campground again!

Great place to camp. I love that it's so rustic and I can dry camp. This site is across from the water but it has great sun exposure so my solar system worked well there. Close to my family so win win. Camp host is awesome. When it started to warm up the bugs started coming out so camping here in the Winter would be the best. Good cell signal as well. I have T-Mobile
