Love Oyster Point Campground! The Campground is very well maintained. The host is nice. My only complaint (and it is more a preference than complaint) is i am not crazy about the fire rings.

Oyster Point is a small National Forest Campground on the Newport River in Eastern North Carolina. The sites are private carved out of the woods with some directly on the water. Registration is self-serve, but there was a campground host on site. Our site had some trash in it when we arrived, but other than that we had a great time.

The campground was peaceful, and private. The bugs weren’t bad in early November. There was good water access from this site where we were able to launch our kayaks. We also rode our bikes on the Neusiok Trail, which begins at the entrance to the campground. There are a few hydrants for drinking water in the campground and two pit toilets. I’m not sure if they close the gate, but the campground hours posted were 6am to 10pm. We had a great time!

reserved campsite #9 11/20 - 11/22. it was only 70 steps to the water (i counted them at low tide). there were a few fellow campers asked if they could pass through the campsite to get the to water (no problems). real quiet except for the squirrels gathering acorns....but that nature. there is enough woods between campsites to maintain privacy, but just enough to know there was someone beside you. Camp site Hostess was extremely friendly and helpful when it comes to fishing..... Looking forward to a longer stay next time.

Oyster Point campground is located in a lovely area, but alas the approach pot holes have turned to craters due to no road maintenance for years, making it lethal for RVs; that aside, we loved the site privacy but did not appreciate the toilet paper and trash left behind by previous campers.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
