Ocracoke Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with easy access to a stunning beach, making it a favorite among campers. Many reviews highlight the campground's cleanliness, helpful staff, and the peaceful atmosphere, ideal for relaxation and stargazing. However, some campers noted issues with mosquitoes, generator noise in the D Loop, and occasional maintenance concerns, but overall, the positive experiences outweigh the negatives, with many expressing a desire to return.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. (Note, cold showers only! described by the park staff as "character building". We passed on those and found a local gym that offered a day pass.) The campground was clean and quiet with easy access to those beautiful beaches. We enjoyed our stay

This appears to be a very nice location. We arrived after dark so just parked in a common lot area for the night.

I was greeted by the park rangers staying in the Silver Bullet camper! It was dusk upon my arrival and they both helped me set up my tent! What amazing people! It was beautiful clear skies and the stars, planets, and moons could be seen. The waves crashing just beyond the dunes at night was like listening to God telling me a bedtime story. The early morning, ground water temperature, showers were invigorating! I felt so close to what heaven must be like. The mosquitoes were mosquitoes but it didn’t detract from the beauty of this marvelous campground. The bathrooms were clean and convenient. I do plan to return next year!

This was our second stay here. We spent 5 nights here this year and 4 or 5 nights here the same week, one year before.
The camp sites are spacious enough and the ones up against the dunes are the ones we choose as we like the sound of the surf and the access to the beach. Plenty of water spigots to refill the water tank on our trailer and the dump station across the street is not too bad of a walk with our portable tote tank. We like the bike path to "town" and its about 4 mi all on a flat, well paved path. We prefer to bike into town to get anything we need at the well stocked grocery store and to grab some fresh seafood to grill on the grill.
We plan to make this trip to Ocracoke an annual one.
