Facilities were maintained very well, clean restrooms, clean shower facilities... The grills were maintain well. Overall a well maintained campground. We saw the ranger drive by around check in time but I didn't have time to wave hello as we were trying to get the charcoal going 😅. Will definitely come back again! Thank you!

One of our favorite campgrounds ever. Even though we were here during a fishing tournament, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely beaches and great seafood. Coming back this fall for sure. Now if only they had hot showers 😆

Ocracoke campground is one of my favorite places to spend the weekend. I love the peacefulness and quiet atmosphere, only to be disturbed by the song birds. Clean facilities and a cold shower makes for a great experience

Good spacing between sites. Some with shade, but most are in the open. Bathrooms were always clean and stocked. Showers are OK and cold, especially the ones that open on the ocean side. Easy walk to the beach and short ride to "downtown". Come in well sticked as the grocery store is very expensive, but had just about anything you would need. You can always take the free ferry to Hatteras and drive the 15 miles give or take to the Food Lion in Avon. As for eating out, we especially liked the Ocracoke Oyster Co. Dine in or out. Dogs are OK on the outside option. El Marachi food truckha good food at a reasonable price. Enjoyed our stay and would return.

Well maintained campground with direct paths to the ocean beach. No hook-ups for RV’s but the free water and sewer dump are across the street. There are clean restrooms. The shower facilities have cold water only ; to me, the only real drawback.

We stayed in the D ring at Ocracoke Campground. We have loved this area of the campground for years and have chosen to reserve in this area of the campground because generators were prohibited. This year, though, the prohibition was lifted and that negatively impacted our and others' enjoyment of the campground. One camper at a site four sites away from us started his generator after 11 pm. It disturbed everyone around and woke us up. This was very unfair for those of us who want peace and quiet at a campground. We would like the D ring to go back to no generators at any time. Ocracoke was otherwise wonderful. The parks staff who work there are really helpful and pleasant.

Such a beautiful spot. If there were hot showers that would be awesome! Aside from that it was clean, beautiful and spacious. We were there on a busy weekend and it still didn’t feel too crowded.

One of my favorite places to camp. Pristine beach access and greenway into town is awesome. Newish hiking trail across the road is a nice break from the beach.

General
- Ocracoke is accessible only by ferry or aircraft. Ferry reservations may be required during peak season.
- Camping is limited to a total of 14 days of camping between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Making reservations under another name or account to circumvent the 14 day restriction is prohibited.
- Generators are allowed throughout the campground and must be turned off during quiet hours.
- Wood fires are not permitted in the campground. Only charcoal cooking fires are permitted in a grill, stove, or other self-contained unit.
- A fire may be ignited and maintained only by using fuel sources designed and commonly used for warmth or the preparation of food, such as charcoal briquettes or natural firewood. Lighting or maintaining a fire with other materials including, but not limited to, flammable liquids, garbage, fireworks, plastics, aerosol canisters, batteries, or other manufactured or synthetic materials, is prohibited.
- All equipment must fit on the site pad. If you have a large RV over 25 feet, you may have to park your second vehicle in the auxiliary parking area just outside the campground or purchase an additional campsite. Vehicles may not be parked on grass.
- At each campsite, there is a limit of six people, two cars (or one car and one trailer), and two tents.
- After heavy rain there may be areas of standing water due to the low terrain.
- Biting insects are prevalent in summer months. Netting and repellent are recommended.
- Campsites are exposed and subject to weather extremes. There are no shaded sites.
- Must be 18 yrs of age to reserve a site.
