What Guests Are Saying
Ocracoke Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with easy access to a stunning beach, making it a favorite among campers. Many reviews highlight the campground's cleanliness, helpful staff, and the peaceful atmosphere, ideal for relaxation and stargazing. However, some campers noted issues with mosquitoes, generator noise in the D Loop, and occasional maintenance concerns, but overall, the positive experiences outweigh the negatives, with many expressing a desire to return.

This campground was very good! It is extremely self-service, which is nice, and we really enjoyed getting up early and seeing the sunrise just over the sand dune. This one horrible downside is that the whole campground is infested with sand fleas/sand bugs, which appeared as soon as the wind died down and bit us unrelenting. But I understand that that is unavoidable, and otherwise we had a really good time.

Nice campground, only stayed one night as I was headed for the northern parts of the outer banks but hope to return for a longer stay someday. Real quiet at night with good star gazing.

Generators at campgrounds should be relegated to specific areas.
C loop shower and restrooms were closed.
However, best. Beach camping. Ever. Biking into town an easy 3.5 miles.

We were here in June and just had to come back in July. Trying to get August before school starts but doesn't look good. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE everything about this campground. Can't wait to come back.

My husband and I went to Ocracoke for the Fig Festival this year. Even though it rained, it was a very relaxing time. The bath house and showers next to our campsite were closed, but there was another within walking distance . Even with the unforseen problems, we will definitely come back.

So disappointed. We love this campground. The last camper in our spot before we arrived felt the need to dump his black water tank in the grass at our spot. For 4 days we smelled sewage and couldn’t figure out what it was until my toddler crawled in my lap and I smelled it. I asked the campground rangers for some lime and they never brought it. Made for a nightmare trying to keep a roaming toddler out of it for the remaining two days of our trip. The campground for all other accounts was great. It’s just sad this happened and nothing was done about it.
