What Guests Are Saying
Ocracoke Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with easy access to a stunning beach, making it a favorite among campers. Many reviews highlight the campground's cleanliness, helpful staff, and the peaceful atmosphere, ideal for relaxation and stargazing. However, some campers noted issues with mosquitoes, generator noise in the D Loop, and occasional maintenance concerns, but overall, the positive experiences outweigh the negatives, with many expressing a desire to return.

It is a great place to camp. I was in generator-free zone in class c motorhome. Beach, dunes and waves are great! I look forward to returning.

We love Ocracoke and have been coming for years. This is the first year we noticed that the beach in front of the campground is opened to trucks (we usually come off season). The ORV access point is at the beginning of the campground and there was no room for campers on the beach because of the high volume of trucks. We'd like to recommend closing the beach in front of the campground to ORVs.
We'd also like to recommend quiet hours start earlier than 10pm. We were in loop d (no generators) but in the first spot so we were still next to a generator spot. We love falling asleep to the sound of the ocean.

A terrifically beautiful natural island setting a few miles from Hatteras. If you love the ocean, this is a wonderful place to stay. The campground was clean and well run. The hosts were the ones who deserve the credit. They are so nice and so accommodating. My car wouldn't start on my check-out morning. I let the hosts know and they helped me make sure I could stay another day. The part I needed was being sent overnight from California. Amazingly, FedEx delivered to the campsite. But the hosts were planning to go to the downtown Hatteras NPS office in case the package was delivered there. In my opinion, this was an above-and-beyond courtesy, and it certainly gave me peace of mind. I'm grateful for their calm helpful demeanor and they do a great job keeping the campground clean and running smoothly.
