Ocracoke Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with easy access to a stunning beach, making it a favorite among campers. Many reviews highlight the campground's cleanliness, helpful staff, and the peaceful atmosphere, ideal for relaxation and stargazing. We love, love, love this campgroundand it would have been 5 stars if there were no generators running until the middle of the night. Beautiful and serene but miss the days when you could get away from the noise of machines while camping.
Super nice staff, clean.

Our first time visiting/staying at this beautiful state park. The serene and natural island scape was exactly what we were needing and expected. The park was immaculately maintained and well attended by the park rangers.
They were very helpful and attentive to all the camp guests as they daily canvas the 4 sections of the park. This ensures everyone is safe and satisfied with their site amenities.
Highly recommend this park for your off-grid vacation plans.

The entire campground was clean, including the bathrooms and showers. As noted in the description, there are a lot of biting bugs, so come prepared. Some of the campsites are smaller, being rather close to each other. Be careful which site you choose.

Please consider changing the generator times. The current time window from 6 am to 10 pm is not only very wide, but also disturbs the morning and evening experience of the shore sounds as well as people that either like to sleep in or sleep early.
Adjusting the generator times to last from 9 am to 7 pm would be a good compromise to cater to the needs of the "power hungry" and the campers that like to enjoy quiet mornings and evenings.

Every thing we need for a great camping experience, although we do not need much in the way of amenities. We make our own power with solar. And if the showers are too cold, we heat a sun shower with 5 gallons and set in the sun. No need to change anything at the campground. But please make it easier for reservation holders to cancel so someone else can use the site. There were several empty sites, but the reservation system indicated no availability.
