Ocracoke Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with easy access to a stunning beach, making it a favorite among campers. Many reviews highlight the campground's cleanliness, helpful staff, and the peaceful atmosphere, ideal for relaxation and stargazing. However, some campers noted issues with mosquitoes, generator noise in the D Loop, and occasional maintenance concerns, but overall, the positive experiences outweigh the negatives, with many expressing a desire to return.

I love the Ocracoke campground, and I always stay in the D Loop because they don’t allow generators there. At least they didn’t. It says on the Recreation.gov website that they are prohibited, but apparently there are mixed messages in other places, and I found myself surrounded by generators. It seems like having A,B&C loops with generators ought to be enough. Having one loop where you can listen to the ocean doesn’t seem like too much to ask.

Very well kept campground, but please make note that there are absolutley no Hook Ups for Rvers, and No Water Spigots at any of the sites, and Dump and Trash is located offsite. You are a very short walk to the beach which is fabulous, and a short drive to town. Overall it is a very nice place to stay.

RVs in the tent loop???? I’ve camped here for decades. Although the facilities/bathrooms were much improved lately, I forfeited my last night because I was DISMAYED that huge RVs are now allowed in the tent loop! I complained. RVs already had 3/4 of the available spaces and now they’ve taken over the quieter, less obtrusive tent loop?!?? It’s unbelievable. Ruined my stay. People tent camp because they want to get away from the conveniences in our daily life. Restore the tent only status to the meager amount of sites dedicated to tent camping.

Great campground as far as location. No power, water, or sewer, but with a generator, and dump station with potable water that’s not a problem. Went in mid-September after the main season. The beach was fairly empty, and it’s nice to be able to just walk across the dunes and you are right there.
