We reserved a tent campsite and it started pouring rain and seeping through. We texted the owners at 9:30 and they were more than happy to help us get a cabin for the night. We ended up spending 3 nights in the cabin and it was perfect for us and our 2 boys. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful. The campground is so cozy and is beautiful in a remote area with a river but also access to adorable Saulda. We are so grateful for our time there as a family!

My wife and I moved to North Carolina a few years ago and have been exploring the area. We came here for two nights and absolutely LOVED it. We travel the world extensively and this is probably the best float trip I’ve ever been on in my life. Look at the picture of the mini catamaran we went down the river on. Absolutely like sitting in a lawn chair comfortable. Only place on the river that uses them, best I’ve ever been on . Customer Service, equipment, etc. is outstanding. Birdie, Bear, Mary, and Mark are outstanding! If you’re going to do anything in this area, that’s the only place I would stay.

I just spent 2 nights here at one of the creekside cabins for my boyfriends birthday. Everything was SO smooth. The check in, flawless. The staff, superb. The beach on the river? Well, the area is still knee deep in helene recovery, so they get a pass on that for a WHILE. If you want a rustic getaway but need electricity for your CPAP, this is 100% the way to go. Next time, we plan to opt for one of the premium glamping tents because of their proximity to the bathhouse, and attached running water, but it exceeded my expectations as far as the space provided.

We had a wonderful stay at Wilderness Cove!
We stayed in one of the glamping tents, and it exceeded our expectations. Everything was spotless, and the tent was exceptionally clean. Even with daytime temperatures reaching 98°F, the air conditioner kept the tent cool and comfortable.
The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
One thing I highly recommend is renting one of their river rafts instead of using a standard tubing rental. Their rafts have an inflatable floor and are steered with a paddle, making the float much more comfortable, easier to control, and significantly safer, especially through shallow sections of the river. After trying it, I wouldn’t choose regular tubing again.
If you’re looking for a relaxing camping or glamping experience with great service and an enjoyable river adventure, Wilderness Cove is an excellent choice. We will definitely be back!

This was a perfect spot for our first “camping” experience with our young boys. We stayed in one of the cabins and the space was comfortable, clean and offered everything we needed. The small trail around the campgrounds was great for a quick hike and loved swimming in the river. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. My boys had a blast playing with the cat, coloring rocks and eating popsicles on the store porch. Even though our kids were too small for tubing, we had plenty to do the two days we were there!
