About Beaver Creek Recreation Area

Beaver Creek Recreation Area is located on the north side of Beaver Bay on Lake Oahe, 16 mi west of Linton, ND off Highway 1804. The lake and dam are named for the Oahe Indian Mission established in 1874 among the Lakota Sioux Native Americans. Over 50 recreation areas are scattered around Lake Oahe, where camping, fishing, boating and hunting are popular activities. For more information, visit the Lake Oahe Project Website.

We had a great time at Beaver Creek. One thing I was a little disappointed about was the picture of the site they put on the reservation page. I booked site #41 (pull-through) and the picture was cleverly taken so as NOT to show how steep (un-level) this site actually was. We had to really maneuver our RV to finally make it somewhat level. Sad that they would not pre-warn you of this on the reservation page before you pick that site.

The bathrooms need to be cleaned by someone who knows what they're doing. It was the first major camping weekend and they are filthy, covered in bugs and spider webs all over, not just one the ceiling. The floor could use someone to scrub it as well. The electricity at one of our campsites was also not working and no attempt to fix it was made nor was there a discount offered.
