Cottonwood Campground is very nice, but is not only without showers, it does not have a sink for washing dishes. This makes it much for difficult for tent camping.

Nice campground! Away from highway. Get your own firewood prior to enter the park, thereβs one place that sells it in town so plan ahead.

The campground is always quiet with little car traffic. There is a good chance of seeing bison - sometimes right in front of your tent or camper! The drive around the loop in the South Unit is another great place to see wildlife, with both bison and wild horses frequently right along or in the road. The North Unit is also worth driving too because it is quite different from the South Unit.

What a surprise it was to camp in this lovely valley. Sunrise bathed the cliffs in stark color. Sunset and star rise were subtle in their beauty. A wonderful experience.

Camp sites were clearly marked and we had no trouble finding the one we had reserved. The nearby hike along the vanishing stream was beautiful and well maintained. All in all we had a great time and would definitely come back!
