We could walk to the river from our spot. The wild horses were hanging out by the river. Bathrooms were nice and new. Overall a good campground especially for the reasonable price.

We had one of the walk to sites which was very small and had no trees to hang a weather tarp from or dry out your dew-soaked rain fly. There was no natural shade. The site was right on top of the neighboring ones with no clear delineation between sites. The grill grates were rusty, and there is no fire ring. Had several vehicles pull up to spots to sleep including the one we reserved (per our camp neighbor). The toilet was clean and modern but the access paths are not marked. The potable water was good. The campground was quiet by dusk. Recommend getting a spot on the inside of each loop as they appeared to be larger. Cheap rate. The Little Missouri had some wild horses grazing on the bank opposite the campground which was a fun surprise. There were no other animals except some birds. Garbage cans were nearby and I disturbed by raccoons or other critters. If you get a decent sized lot for your gear, bring your own fire ring, and don’t mind having unregistered visitors sleeping in their vehicles at your campsite until you shop them off, you’ll enjoy the exceptional value this campground offers. It’s a place to sleep for the night, not a KOA where you’ll spend a lot of time “camping” or hanging out with family/friends. You’re there for the national park so get out and enjoy it. If you want amenities or more space, look elsewhere.

Very nice campground for tent camping. Bathrooms were nice and clean. I had a buffalo walk through my campsite my very first night and another night I could hear horses very close by. Campground host was also very kind!
