Site 53 is beautiful, right on the bank of the Little Missouri river. It's also a lot larger than the surrounding campsites, no super close neighbors. This site was the only site that had a fire ring, all other sites have the BBQ grate (the picture still shows a BBQ grate though). Pretty good tree coverage through out the day, full sun for 2-3 hours before sunset (this was June). Bathrooms and water tap were right there too. We loved it and would absolutely stay again!!

The campground was really nicely set up. Plenty of distance between sites, and the campground host was fantastic.

Clean bathrooms. Two toads on sidewalk in the evening!

Great campsite with plenty of space for tent camping. Shade is good in the morning and late afternoon. This site is co-located parking with site 30, but has good spacing between camping, parking can be close especially if you are n an RV. Bugs weren’t an issue during my stay, and is located next to a field. Bathrooms with flush toilets and water fountain are a short walk away, as well as a water source. Medora and visitor center is about 5 miles from this site.

Great place to stay. Easy access to early wildlife viewing, well set up, kind camp host.
I do wish there were showers, but the rest of the bathrooms were clean and in good working order

Cottonwood was a lovely campground and the camp host was friendly and informative. We arrived after dark and were surprised to see a buffalo right in the campground. Pretty cool!
The scenic drive throught the South Unit is a must see introduction to the park.

Spots were well marked and easy to find. Campground was very quiet. I would definitely recommend it
