What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful experience with spacious, well-maintained sites and clean facilities. Many visitors enjoyed the close encounters with bison and the serene natural surroundings, making it a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts. While some noted issues with insects and site leveling, the overall atmosphere and friendly camp hosts contributed to a memorable stay.

Great campsite with plenty of space for tent camping. Shade is good in the morning and late afternoon. This site is co-located parking with site 30, but has good spacing between camping, parking can be close especially if you are n an RV. Bugs weren’t an issue during my stay, and is located next to a field. Bathrooms with flush toilets and water fountain are a short walk away, as well as a water source. Medora and visitor center is about 5 miles from this site.

The campground was really nicely set up. Plenty of distance between sites, and the campground host was fantastic.

Site 53 is beautiful, right on the bank of the Little Missouri river. It's also a lot larger than the surrounding campsites, no super close neighbors. This site was the only site that had a fire ring, all other sites have the BBQ grate (the picture still shows a BBQ grate though). Pretty good tree coverage through out the day, full sun for 2-3 hours before sunset (this was June). Bathrooms and water tap were right there too. We loved it and would absolutely stay again!!

One of our favorite campsites from our recent trip. Right on the river, beautiful views. Woke up to the sounds of wild turkeys and horses and even had a few bison grazing through the camp!

Clean and simple. Had a roof top tent set up on a car. Lots of bison and prairie dogs for viewing.
