Nice campground and love the first come first serve. It’s not always easy knowing where (or what time) you’re going to end up for the day, so the ability to grab a site without prior commitment is nice.

Ccc Campground offers a spacious and scenic location just outside Theodore Roosevelt National Park, with breathtaking views and easy access to hiking and biking trails. Campers have praised the cleanliness of the facilities and the reasonable prices, especially for electric hookups. However, some guests reported issues with water availability and occasional high voltage at electrical sites, but overall, the campground is highly recommended for its beauty and tranquility.

I almost don’t want to write a review and let others know how good this campground was!! Beautiful setting and a nice trail adjacent. Also so incredible to have an electric campsite for ten dollars! Would camp here again. Was never full when we were here early September

wonderful spot to access the north unit of TR National Park.
Restrooms were clean but left full of water after the power washing. They should have been squeegeed or blown out with a handheld blower.
All the parking pads were graveled but soft to drive on. The truck tires sunk in about 3-4”.
It was a quiet 3 nights and even though the MDH trail was under construction we got to enjoy part of it.

Wonderful campground, close enough to see a bison jam in Teddy Roosevelt NP scenic drive which is literally next door. Arrive with water as the water here needs major filtration but it was wonderful to have power. Also the trailhead of the Maah Daah Hey trail is right in the campground. Saw plenty of “evidence” of bison but none on the trail. There’s also a prairie dog town right by the dumpster.
A great alternative to the NP

September 13, 2026 Stayed at: 1, Loop: Equestrian Loop
This campground is surrounded by the most beautiful views of the Badlands. The equestrian loop has wonderful pens and plenty of space. The trails are spectacular and rewarding. The campground hosts were friendly.
A few things I think people should know.
On the equestrian loop, the campsites on the east side of the loop are directly underneath high voltage powerlines. And unfortunate fixture in such an idyllic setting.
I would not drink the water from the faucets, or feed it to my horses. It doesn’t smell right, and this is in the land of fracking. My horses generally drink whatever, but they didn’t like the water here. Bring your own water.
E-bikers are not supposed to be on the MDH trails, but these rules were not followed when we were there. If you are an equestrian, be prepared for hot rodding E-bikers that go speeds you are not expecting. Your horse will hear them before it sees them. We had steady horses, but this could be a safety concern when you’re on the steep switchbacks.

Great campground. We would camp here again without hesitation. Large level sites with electric. The views were amazing. VERY close to the entrance of the North Unit of TR National Park. The park has a campground but the views from CCC were better.
