What Guests Are Saying

Lake Wapusun RV Resort has transitioned from a family-oriented atmosphere to a more corporate feel under new management, leading to dissatisfaction among long-time campers. While some guests appreciate the clean facilities, friendly staff, and enjoyable activities like the game room and playground, many express disappointment over rising prices and changes that detract from the community spirit. Despite the negatives, there are still enjoyable experiences to be had, especially for families.

“Used to be a place for families… now it’s just about money.”

For years, Lake Wapusun was a second home for me and my family. We spent countless holidays here, especially the 4th of July, surrounded by people who had been part of this community for decades. Unfortunately, since the new ownership took over, everything has changed… and not for the better.

They’ve been forcing out long-time campers who helped make this place what it is, all while trying to bring in “higher-paying” guests. There’s nothing wrong with improving a campground, but the way it’s being done feels wrong. They keep raising prices, adding absurd new rules, and pretending it’s a luxury resort while the reality is, the place is being patched together and doesn’t reflect the money they’re charging.

It’s sad to see a place that once had so much heart and family tradition turn into something so corporate and cold. Many of us who made memories here for years are leaving because it just doesn’t feel like home anymore.

Used to be a great place… not anymore.

Lake Wapusun RV Resort used to be one of the best spots around when the previous owners ran it. It had a friendly, family oriented vibe and a real sense of community. Unfortunately, ever since the ownership change and the new management company took over, everything has gone downhill fast.

The new manager is rude, constantly changes the rules, and makes it nearly impossible to enjoy your stay. Prices have gone up, but the quality of the campground has gone way down.
So many of the seasonal campers who made this place great have already packed up and left, and I can’t blame them. The heart of this campground is gone. It’s sad and infuriating to watch something that used to be so wonderful get destroyed by bad management.

If you’re thinking about camping here… don’t. There are much better places around that actually care about their guests and their community.

Site #446 was lakeview and spacious. The color-changing fountain was beautiful at night. We had no issues with noise. Hope was friendly, accommodating and helpful on the phone and in person. Park was clean, mowed and easy to navigate.

I do want to make this clear - this is NOT a Hotel. Just for anyone wondering, because for some reason Google seems to think it is. This is a Campground.

My brother and his wife came to stay for their honeymoon in a cabin. My kids and I came to spend a day either them. We had an awesome time. The golf cart was a huge advantage. The cabin stairs are steep, and placed a little odd - but the porch views over the pretty lake.
Plenty to do in the game room! Staff were absolutely incredible! Very friendly, and were all-around happy, attentive folk.
I have a few friends that are seasonal here and they adore this place as well. Great playground, the jump pad is super fun; there's SO much to do. Great place. We're planning to come primitive camp in October.

We really had a nice few days at this RV park. There are many seasonal tenants here, but they all take pride in their sites. We've stayed many places that have had long term tenants and some people can get very trashy.

We stayed in a grassy area between a lake and a forested area. The site was large and very nice.

This was also a nice 'home base' for traveling around to some local Amish communities.

As a small kid, I probably would have lost my mind here. There are so many things for small kids to do.
