WOW — I’ve been coming here my entire adult life whenever my parents visit, and what a difference a year makes. I’m not sure what’s going on, but the older gentleman was unfriendly, and the place just doesn’t feel well maintained anymore. Thankfully, one of the seasonal campers — someone I recognized from years past — was incredibly kind and offered me some dog bags for the dog park since the box was empty. In the past you saw people working all the time, we never saw anyone, except sitting at a table in the pool area smoking, lack of work certainly shows. Dirty facilty was very sad to see - shower house use to be beautiful and always clean, my Mom said it wasn't cleaned the entire time she was there.
Unfortunately, several of the campsites (especially at the bottom of the hill) had trash overflowing, which really took away from the experience. If you decide to stay here, I highly recommend getting a campsite site at the top of the hill, those camp sites seemed much more maintained the location by the dog park.
The office also reeked of cigarette smoke, which was disappointing. On the plus side, the kayaking and walking trails are still beautiful and worth doing. Other than the nice lady with the Great Dane and Beagle(and the poop bags) , though, we won’t miss much — we’ll be finding a new spot for my parents’ future visits. Very disappointed.
