Guests appreciate the clean facilities, helpful camp hosts, and quiet atmosphere, with some enjoying the scenic views and local activities. We stayed 7 nights at Leigh Run Campground. The second night there was a rain storm that flooded the grounds, but not enough to reach any of the campers at their sites. We were in site 2, in a 34’ Motorhome. Site 2 is in the inner circle, away from the Ohio river. The site is almost level, except for a sunken area one of the front wheels was in. Clean restrooms and hot shower.

Beautiful views of the Ohio River and West Virginia across from it and no pressure when checking in or out. However, complaints I do have is that photos on the website are quite misleading, showing images of fully-stacked firewood at a campsite that looks like it could last for days, yet I showed up to my site and there was no "Reserved" sign as I had reserved it online and no firewood, just some sticks left in the area probably by the last campers. I went to the camp manager, who just seemed grouchy and unhelpful, telling me to go get my own firewood out by the dumpster... "if there's even any left"...
Now, it had been raining in the days before I showed up, so I basically could huge logs of firewood, damp if not wet, that can't even fit into the confined grills/firepits let alone burn when wet (or perhaps even when dry in such a small space). The grouch in the RV (camp manager) made sure to punctuate "don't drive up to the campsite". With no available carts and with quite a walk, you have to haul as many sticks in your car as you can, making a mess, and then losing a ton trying to haul them to the site. If they're wet and wont burn and you need almost constant refueling to dry others while other burn, you're going to spend your evening going back and forth to this dumpster mess pile trying to bring it to the fire as fast as you can to basically cook a hotdog... bring lanterns here, come prepared, and ideally bring a camp stove grill of your own; firewood is left to the elements here and the grouch in the RV who apparently runs the place never even gave suggestions of where to go buy real firewood.
I felt like I was being watched too by some of the camper crowd (you probably can't go wrong if you show up in one of those). Luckily, I tore down camp and left basically when I wanted/needed to with no hassle. You get beautiful views, showers, a good bathroom, even water pumps, but you also get wet firewood and no real assistance or welcome from the manager.

This is a very nice campground. Our campsite was very large. Nice view of the river. Plenty of spots for fishing. A really nice deck overlooking the river where you can bring your chairs a sit and enjoy the view!
Could only get 1 bar for cell service--I could text out but no calls in or out. Some road noise and barges and trains a few times during the day and night. But not bad. I will camp here again!

The bath needed cleaned
The grass needed cut and trimmed around obstacles
I was on site 18 and there was no power at all no 30amp and no 20amp . The 20 amp wasn’t working last year when I was there (I was there 6/2 - 6/6)

Great campground, truly a hidden gem. Camp host was nice and left us to our business. One of my favorite trips.

Leith Run is a lovely spot on the Ohio River. The Scenic River trail hike to the rocky mountain top has fantastic views. We would of given this a higher rating if our site wasn't listed wrong. Site 12 is short and can only fit a 20 foot or shorter camper. The host was great and moved us to site 4 but this was not on the water as we had planned.
