Overall, the campground has a very nice setting. Lots of trees, nice walking path and a few viewing decks. When we stayed, it seemed the lawn was being managed good. It had probably been mowed within the last week or so.
We use Verizon and had very poor reception outside and nothing inside our pop-up.
We stayed on site 10, which had a great view of the river and was mostly flat with a slight slope. For river viewing, sites 10, 11 and 15 were probably the best though #11 had more of a slope and the fire ring was located downhill from the pad. With only 20 something sites it seemed very quiet in that regard, and it was nice that there was a little space between them. A bit of noise from across the river from WV RT. 2 and an occasional train but, it really didn't bother us. Barge traffic was very light during our stay and created minimal noise disturbance.
We do, however, rely on the use of the campground restrooms and shower houses. This campground offers multiple restroom locations and 1 shower house/restroom. We usually do not expect a lot from these facilities, except at least make an attempt to clean occasionally. We only used the shower house/restroom during our 2 night stay. The water was warm/hot though. Not great pressure but enough. However, I have to say that it was the dirtiest and most unkept bathroom I have ever seen in a campground. No hand soap the entire time of our stay, filthy floors (hadn't been mopped in weeks, if not months), toilet was disgusting and there was even a wad of chewing tobacco on the shower stall bench, that had been there for apparently quite some time. The host did manage to empty the trash bins located outside of the shower house the day we were leaving and had a broom next to his truck but didn't see a mop. I'm not really sure what he'd swept since there was still paper and debris on the men's floor after he'd left. (and still no hand soap).
We'll Likely return if we have an improved camper bathroom facility situation.

If you want peace and quiet this is the place. It's a small campground right on the Ohio River. We just love the large sites. The loudest thing you will hear besides the geese would be a train across the river.
