What Guests Are Saying
Gilboa Quarry RV Park & Campground offers an excellent SCUBA diving experience with a beautiful setting and friendly, knowledgeable staff, particularly Cheyenne, who provides outstanding customer service. The visibility in the quarry is impressive, and the facilities are well-suited for divers, with convenient access to the water and ample camping space. While the ground conditions leading to the dive platforms could be improved, overall, visitors enjoy their time and plan to return.

Great experience all around! 2 nights camping and 2 days diving was fun! Any skill level divers can be found learning and tweaking. As a diver with many dives I still found the lines tied between sunken objects to be awesome. You can't miss anything!
Cheyenne in the office is so friendly and helpful! The air card is a great deal! There's a small food truck.
We can't wait to go again!

Had a great day on the water out here, spacious easy to read location with a ton of camping and lots of room to get in and out of the water with groups. Fast air fills and food on location. My only gripe would be access to the dive platforms is rather narrow but more problematic would be the condition of the ground there. About five feet of mud covered roots and undeveloped ground is the toll to reach the lanch deck. Again not a big deal, but definitely the worst thing on location for our visit. Fish are awesome and we'll behaved, we'll be back!

I enjoy diving at Gilboa. There’s lots to see and do for divers of all skill levels. It gets busy during the weekends but there always seems to be room for everyone. Camping on site is an option I’ve enjoyed and air fills are reasonably priced.

5***** star. My wife and I are certified divers with almost all our own gear, but we had one problem we couldn’t solve for months: finding a dive mask that actually sealed on her face - and better yet where to test it at. Her face being pretty and one in a million shape she suffers from just notoriously difficult to fit, and every brand-new mask we tried leaked. She needed something gently used and already worn-in. Didn’t matter the new brand or model. That’s where Cheyenne comes in (hope I didn’t misspell name) and her assistant who I shoulda got her name at Gilboa Quarry saved the day. They were incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and didn’t give up until we found the perfect mask. Cheyenne pulled several options, explained the fit differences, and let my wife water-test them until it was right. The customer service was 10/10. We’ve been watching the weather for months waiting for good conditions and the quarry as helpful as they are provide online temperatures even thermocline and bottom temps and today was finally the day. Visibility at the quarry was excellent with less people and time to hone skills - easily 32 feet in most areas. They do have a deeper side but we stayed shallow as it’s early. All those submerged attractions like the bus and the airplane are even better when you can actually see them coming. Swimming near the bus and around the plane never gets old, and the fish have zero fear. They’ll come right up to your mask and check you out. Quarry will let you feed them if you want for a modest extra. The setup at Gilboa is perfect for divers. Plenty of camping spaces right near the docks, so you can gear up steps from your site. Entry and exit from the water is about as easy as it gets with the docks and stairs. No scrambling over rocks or long surface swims to get to the good stuff. It was about five short kicks and drop. The platforms made fins fairly easy to either walk off with or put on in the water. Between the staff, the conditions, and the facilities, this was the quarry to get a season pass at. If you’re a diver in the Midwest, Gilboa should be on your list. And if you’ve got weird gear-fitting issues like my wife did, go see Cheyenne first. Thanks to the whole Gilboa crew for making it a perfect day. If you forget any gear or just need thicker neoprenes they got you. We’ll be back.
