We arrived at 6pm and the check-in area was already closed. Most places have somebody to greet you and go over your stay details. We got our site set up and went to dinner since there was no place to purchase firewood. Upon our return the site host stalked us in his golf cart on some sort of power trip and stopped at our site to tell us that we were speeding way over the 5mph sign ( we were maybe going 7). He was not kind about it and talked down to us like we were children. For somewhere called a “resort” this is far from it. The water was cloudy, smelly, and not even good enough for our dog. Our site was full of trash and cigarette buds when we arrived and we had to move the picnic table to even pull in. The sites are so close that our slide nearly touched the camper next to us. You would think that a “resort” would have a bath house or at least flushing toilets? Nope. You get a port a potty. For the price you are paying these are standard amenities that are just expected when you stay somewhere. We had two nights booked and left afree one. Images online look a lot better than the real deal so be prepared.

Disappointing stay — unresponsive host and damaged electrical hookup
We stayed at Skylake RV and Fishing Campground and cannot recommend it based on our experience. The electrical pedestal at our RV site was damaged — when we finally got the cover open, it fell off entirely. We went to the campground host site for assistance; all of the host’s vehicles were present and we could hear movement inside the RV, but no one answered the door despite multiple attempts.
The campground borders private property, and shortly after we set up, an individual (not staff) confronted us and inaccurately accused us of speeding, in an aggressive tone. Management wasn’t available to address it — or anything else.
Amenities are minimal compared to other campgrounds in the area. If you’re RV camping in this region, there are better-maintained parks nearby with responsive hosts and working electrical hookups. One star.

Absolute Paradise for Fishermen and RVers!
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Sky Lake RV Resort! If you love to fish and want a peaceful, quiet escape, this is it.
The Fishing: The 55 acres of stocked fishing lakes are incredible. We caught fish all day right from the shoreline.
The Campgrounds: The grounds are clean, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by 113 acres of natural scenery. Setting up our rig right by the water offered gorgeous morning views.
Amenities: Having full hookups, fire pits, and an on-site bait house stocked with tackle, snacks, and drinks made our trip incredibly easy and comfortable.
The Location: It feels like a secluded countryside retreat, but it is super convenient to get to—only a few miles off I-70 and close to town for quick supplies.
We had a minor issue with the online check-in process but Shay made sure the overall atmosphere created the perfect weekend getaway.
We will definitely be back!

The easiest thing to say about this park is the CONs out way the PROs without a doubt. Please note when booking a lot of the reviews ONLY regard the PUBLIC FISHING aspect not the RV park itself.
CONS:
Right off the jump when we arrived communicating with the property manager, Shay, was a NIGHTMARE. Phone calls not returned, sent straight to voicemail, and texts not answered. Unfortunately this was something we experienced throughout our stay until it was time to rebook. For someone who “enforces” a 30-day notice to vacate or extend it is not demonstrated on the parks side. After being here for several months we were informed that our spot was booked, a days notice. This also happened to others traveling with us, their notice was the night before and was then met with nastiness. She also attempted to place someone into a spot that was occupied and was still being occupied the day we left. It is obvious she has no knowledge as to what is going on in this park.
Expect your entire camper to be ORANGE. The water is straight iron, smell and taste. We also at one point had an oily film coming from our water. Not sure how the park remains open with that water. (Pictures attached)
The only pros of this park is the fishing is nice and the camp hosts, who live on site, and permanent residents were the sweetest people we have met.
Overall, we DO NOT recommend this park and would not return if we ended up back in this area.

If you are looking for a quite place to get away and enjoy the view, this is the place to be. We took the family and they had a blast. The kids got to go out and enjoy themselves and we didn't have to worry. My husband and brother enjoyed themselves fishing while me and my sister in law enjoyed lounging around. Will be going back for sure.
