What Guests Are Saying

Caesar Creek Lake offers a generally positive experience, with many visitors praising the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities, as well as the ease of the reservation process for shelters. Some have enjoyed successful family gatherings and events without any complaints. However, a recent negative experience highlighted issues with reservation management, leading to conflicts and disruption during a birthday celebration.

Very good. All the family likes this site better than under the dam which was damaged earlier with a landside.

The shelter is very much to my expectation. The facility is well maintained. Restrooms were out of service.

I had the opportunity to host some of my very large immediate family (6 adult kids & 12 grandchildren) at a mini-family reunion. I rented a shelter near the Visitors' Center at Caesar Creek Reservoir for what turned out to be a beautiful fall day in September, 2019. It was a perfect venue for us...plenty of picnic tables, cook-out facilities, delightful playground for the kids, trash bags provided, easy & accessible parking for all, and shelter reserved with my name on the signage. Everything was clean and in excellent condition. Making the reservation was very easy on line. It was an inexpensive solution for hosting a relaxed family gathering in a pleasant setting with plenty of room that would have been impossible at my apartment home in near-by Wilmington

We focused on a family fossil collecting outing. The nieces and nephews were excited to do this activity last summer. The exhibits at the Welcome Center are first class and informative. The intro video was a good introduction for everyone. We reserved a pavilion for lunch and that turned out great. It was clean and perfect for an outdoor picnic plus it was nearby to the spillway cut so we could hike to the spillway and do our fossil collecting. Overall, it was a summer highlight!! As a geologist, I would have to say that the site is relatively 'picked over' from a fossil collecting perspective especially since you can't collect on the slopes (but I understand the safety considerations). The kids didn't know the difference anyway so it still turned out great as an experience for them.
