What Guests Are Saying
Canadian Campground is highly praised for its beautiful layout, spacious sites, and well-maintained facilities. Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, scenic views of Lake Canton, and helpful staff. However, some guests have reported issues with sand burrs and occasional noise on busy weekends, but overall, many express a desire to return.

This is a very nice park, newer, with level pads, picnic tables, and great views of the lake. The showers and bathrooms are clean and nice. However, this would’ve been a five star rating if not for all the stickers in the grass. There are so many stickers that it is impossible to walk your dog without the dog getting stickers in his or her feet. There are so many stickers by the water hydrant and electrical hook ups my socks and shoes were covered with them. By the end of the weekend my fingers were very sore from picking stickers out of everything. The government has got to do something about the stickers or this park will be unusable.

We could not leave Canadian campground Sat. morning to go home and feed our pets & livestock. There was no notice of this inconvenience (Triathlon) posted at the time reservations were made. Ants invaded our RV on the 3rd night of our stay due to the previous campers leaving dog food on the ground outside. We had to go home to sleep in a safe bed that night. Normally, we are very happy in this site & campground, but Canton Lake sure struck out this time.

When we arrived the park host told us of a triathlon event to be held the campground the following morning and that we couldn’t leave the campground from 6am until noon. We were traveling through the area and we need to leave by 8am. The host told us about another campground near by called Big Bend. The host called the host at Big Bend and saved us a site and they were very helpful. The host at Big Bend helped with us getting our refund from Canadian CG.
Recreation.gov never contacted us about the triathlon event and told us about the closure of the park from 6am - noon.
The park hosts at both locations was a big help in us getting a campsite for the night.
Once again we NEVER heard anything (email or phone call) from recreation.gov.
