The Canadian campground at Canton Lake is highly praised for its cleanliness, spacious sites, and friendly staff, making it a great place for camping and relaxation. While some reviewers noted issues with tall grass and stickers, many expressed a desire to return, highlighting the enjoyable atmosphere and beautiful lake views. Overall, the campground is recommended for its well-maintained facilities and peaceful environment, despite minor maintenance concerns.

We stayed in CAN A area on the newer pad sites by the water. We really love the sites as they are clean level and have covers, pits and grills. Canton lake is great for our pontoon and swimming. The only drawback are the sandburrs in every square foot of grass. It’s really bad. We actually bought boots for our dog just so he could get on the grass. Great campsite but please address the burrs.

We camped in the Canadian B area and upon arrival we had to spend several minutes picking up trash left from the previous camper. Not only was there trash left on the picnic table, grounds and fire pit, there were cigarette butts everywhere. This spot was right next to the "volunteer campers". I was under the impression that campers that were allowed to stay in the volunteer spots were required to work so many hours a week and one of the duties was to clean up fire pits and camping spots after campers left the area. This was the 2nd time this summer we have camped in this area and had to clean up when we arrived. In past years when there were only a couple of "volunteers" the area was always clean. This year the volunteer area is full, but the camp site are filthy.
