We love Canton Lake and have camped there many times over the years. We hadn’t been there in several years and we did have one major issue this time which was sand burrs. They were awful! We had to move our tents onto the asphalt because we couldn’t walk around in our tents without getting stickers in our feet coming up through the bottom of the tent. Stickers were in everything! We still had a great time, but the stickers were a big negative.

The sand burrs were out of control!! We rented 3 sites and not a single tent could be placed on the ground because we had so many stickers in every area of grass. They poked through two layers of tent flooring! We had to move all tents to the concrete and it was a constant battle to keep the kids and ourselves sticker free all weekend. It really ruined the trip. Our shoes and gear were absolutely covered constantly. Our site did not have power as promised so we had to run lines from other sites. Another party completely took over the pavilion, hauled in tons of lights, equipment, tarps, etc so it was only available to their group the whole weekend. They had so many cars parked during the day, we could barely drive through the circle to our site. They were up before sunrise with glaring lights and loud appliances, cooking and making noise. They kept walking through our campsites, even trying to play with our kids toys and stuff while we were sitting there. It was not a great weekend. We have always loved camping here in the past but doubt we will come back, simply because of the sand burrs alone!

This was our third visit to this campground during the week it is amazing but once the weekend comes it is very loud and most campers follow the quiet times but there is a few who do not.

Good camp ground, just too many stickers in Canadian "B".
