Belle Starr Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a top choice for campers. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful lake views, and spacious pull-through sites, with ample wildlife to observe. Some concerns include limited restroom availability during off-peak months and the presence of stickers in the area, but overall, guests express a strong desire to return.

We enjoyed our stay at Belle Starr.
Improvements that we would like is sewer at the campsites. Upgrading more of the sites to 50 amps would also be good.

We enjoyed our 5 days at Bell Starr very much. Great view of the lake, watched the Great Blue Herons fish on the shore, gorgeous sunsets. We shopped in nearby Checotah's Walmart, ate very good food in an Asian restaurant, and visited the little Creek Casino in Eufaula. Won some money there so very good trip that day. Our ATT cell and data service worked great, as did our DISH service for TV. The 50 amp power and water worked well for our site, although one afternoon, there was a very heavy rain-thunder-lightning storm which downed the power in the whole area for two hours. Then it came back on and all was good. Will definitely come back to Belle Starr again when in the area.
Only one issue, the dump station was a tight turn for our 40-foot motorhome towing a jeep. We made the turn with some careful steering.

Love the site and the nice views of the lake. Only issue we had this visit was the seed ticks. I suspect that the recent shore work caused them to migrate more into the site.

The best site on East loop. A great pad around the tables leaves plenty of safe, flat ground for our griddle and chairs. Hopefully the camper pad will get attention soon as the broken asphalt makes it hard to level.

Location was good at the lake. The campsite had branches and the exit road had branches that made it difficult to exit. Some could not be avoided, rubbing against the trailer. Restrooms were not clean at all. too many insects in the facilities.

The electric boxes all need to be 50 am for this extreme heat. That is my only complaint or comment.

Nice sandy beaches and boat ramp is nice. Loop E needs updates to bathrooms, electrical, each site needs its own water spigot and the rv pads are badly in need of upgrades. They are broke off and deteriorated. We had to park our camper in the dirt next to the pad because half the pad was missing. Most sites don’t have grills because they rusted out and never replaced them. Lake was nice, volunteers are friendly and helpful. Loop E just needs a good remodel.

Great park. The lake was really nice, water was wonderful. Sites were clean and staff did a great job. Felt very safe as well.
The only reason I have 4 stars not 5, is that the bathroom facilities have some obvious deferred maintenance, and the roads are in need of some asphalt repair and sealing. Still, I highly recommend this park, and would stay again without hesitation.

The lake itself is nice. The campground needs attention. The showers are inoperable in the E loop. There is trash along the lakeshore. It's too bad as the sites are nicely sized especially in E Loop. The other area seemed too close; not enough privacy. Also you may want to load up with water before you park or bring a splitter and really, really long hoses as "shared water" spigots are few & far between. Still, we enjoyed our stay and the time swimming in the lake; casual neighbors.
