This was the perfect place for me to spend the night while on the road. The campground has a variety of sites, from in the trees to a hill top overlooking the lake. The bath house in the main loop consists of a single toilet/shower stall behind the same door (one for women and another for men). That isn't a complaint... just make note that if the campground is busy, you might have to wait to use the toilet if someone is taking a shower. And only one shower at a time. There is also another vault toilet up on the hill. It is reasonably clean.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is necessary to make reservations at recreation.gov. There is no option to drive up and get a site without going through recreation.gov. And my phone signal was dicey (AT&T), so it was difficult to do so once I got there. I had never encountered a campground with sites available where I couldn't rent the site once I got there. However, the hosts were fabulous about helping me out, and at least recreation.gov did not charge the usual reservation fee!

It was a great trip. The couple that works at the gate Karen and Daryl was always very nice and helpful. It would have been great if grass was mowed but understand after being closed. Thank yall for opening the parks up so we can camp. We spend a lot of time at Gentry creek our favorite camping area.

We had a very relaxing spring break at Lake Eufaula. The weather could've been better, but over all we enjoyed our stay on the lake.

I did an overnight here. The campground is a little dated and some of the campsites are a little hard to get a bigger camper into. Beautiful spot on Lake Eufaula, convenient to I-40.

The campground is paved but much of the pavement has crumbled. 30 amp power is at the sites and water is not too far away and can be reached with a couple of long hoses. Some sites have water closer than others. The park is well maintained and the wood that is trimmed from the trees is set out so campers can use it for campfires. The campground hosts at the front gate are very helpful and friendly. We were able to get 2 bars on our cell phone and could have gotten 3 if we camped on the water as the tower can be seen on the other side of the lake. The scenery at the park is beautiful and deer come through on a daily basis. There is a nice playground for kids as well; many people come for the fishing.

campsites were rather random- such hoses drug across campsites for water connections
To others. However, perfect stop for overnight on way through.

Quiet place great for fishing and swimming. Plenty of room for camping. There’s just one shower/bathroom but there wasn’t ever a huge line for it.

{"text"=>"Great US Army Corps of Engineers operated campground. Nice sites close to lake. Many sites do not have sewer, but they have a dump station. Some sites you share a water hookup with your neighbor to fill your tank. Very friendly camp host when were there. Great fishing spot. It rained the whole week we were there, so we couldn't enjoy it as much as we wanted to. We'll be back!", "languageCode"=>"en"}

Once you have reserved and are occupying your campsite, if a Gate Attendant is on duty (Thursday - Monday 10AM to 10PM), please take the time to check-in with them, otherwise a volunteer will check you in during their daily patrol of the campground. Thank you. |
