The camp hosts are friendly, and check-in is quick. The grass needed to be mowed around our campsite.

Pettit Bay is a popular campground known for its friendly staff, clean sites, and great amenities like the nearby marina and dining options. Many visitors enjoy the beautiful views, ample shade, and family-friendly atmosphere, making it a favorite spot for camping. However, there are concerns regarding maintenance, particularly with overgrown grass, restroom facilities, and the overall upkeep of some areas.

We enjoyed the camp sight we had. The beach area was over grown in weeds, the courtesy boat dock was gone so it was hard to load and unload the kids on the boat. The camp host said the pay system wasn’t working correctly, had a hard time paying for our camp. We reserved the pavilion and it was nice. We stayed at a corps camp at Pomona lake in Kansas and there was nothing bad or broken there. People were working and maintaining the campground and facilities like needed. Nice big bathrooms and showers. People were so nice and friendly. They wanted campers to come back. Wish it was closer to Tahlequah. I don’t know what the problem is but feel like it’s in the management.

Dock in disrepair and in unsafe condition. Dead tree hanging over camp site we preferred. Several campsites unattended by occupants. Bathrooms in dire straits.

This has always been a great campgrounds for me to stay at. The people are always friendly, the campsites are good, the boat ramp is close, and plenty of shade trees by several of the campsites. There is even a decent place to eat in the evenings, just across the road from the entrance to the campgrounds.
Since I bought my Lifetime Senior Pass, it has made it an even better place to stay, when it makes it such a cheap and affordable place to camp!
