Doris camp is well-laid out, peaceful, with both shade and open. I was there during the week and it was quiet and extremely peaceful. It was amazingly beautiful with bison and cattle walking around us. I met a few neighbors in the camp and they were so kind to share their stove when mine did not work. The bathrooms were good. Location of the camp is close to all the great hiking locations and not far from Lawton should you forget anything important.

The campground is well taken care of, but it is just a tough landscape. I tent camped which was the main problem due to the high winds and dust that blew through the campsites. The gear inside my tent was the dirtiest that I have ever experienced. The prior couple of days had been very warm, and we came into very close contact with two western diamondback rattlesnakes, which are extremely dangerous. You just have to really pay attention. There are some very pretty areas that make you feel like you are in Colorado or Utah.
