We called ahead to make sure that the campsites had not flooded, and were pleased to find a convenient site near our destination.

Bear Creek Cove is praised for its beautiful, well-maintained grounds and exceptional camp host, Neal, who enhances the camping experience with his friendliness and cleanliness efforts. Campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, spacious sites, and the overall cleanliness of the facilities, including bathrooms. However, some have noted challenges with water quality and the check-in process due to limited cell service, along with occasional weather-related issues.

This campground is the best maintained of all the sites around Kaw lake. The camp host actually cares about the appearance of the grounds.

The bugs were terrible there hadn’t been mowing done. I did like the space between campsite and the paved sites

Very nice and well maintained spots. The boat launch is only available during times of high water.

From Newkirk, Oklahoma, take Peckham Road and travel east for about 8 mi, turn right on Bear Creek Road and continue south for 3 mi. Campground will be on the right.
Bear Creek Cove is accessible via US Highway 177, which is approximately 12 miles to the east. From there, it connects to other major roads in the area.
