This is a GREAT place to camp. However, the 50 amp and 20 amp plugs don’t work (and haven’t for some time). We do have a 50 to 30 amp adapter and used it, but it limits the number of things we can run at one time. We would’ve liked to have plugged the outdoor fan into the 20 amp plug (instead of into the camper since the 50 amp plug doesn’t work), but it doesn’t work either. This would be the best spot in the park in the middle of summer if y’all could get these fixed.

We stayed in the B loop. The campsites are not paved, but level. We did battle some ants. We were there end of July and only about 6 sites had campers and that suited us perfectly. Mid sized park with 2 camping areas. Loop B has shaded gravel driveways that are fairly level and widely spaced. Plenty of room to breath. Beautiful trees and a park like atmosphere.
The other loop has just a couple shaded spots and all the sites have concrete pads that appear to be level with less spacing between sites.
Overall the park is clean and well maintained.

From Hugo, OK, take Highway 70 east for 10 miles, then turn north onto Highway 147. Continue for 2 miles and follow the posted signs to the campground.
Virgil Point is accessible via Highway 70, which connects to the east of Hugo, OK. It is also accessible via Highway 147, which leads directly to the campground after a short distance.
