GREAT SPOT! We had a waterfront location with water and electric hookups. The host was friendly and helpful. The only wildlife we experienced was a heron...and he was delightful.

We were here for 2 nights at spot 52 on Loop C. The camping spot was level and a good size. Firepit had an attached grill to it which made cooking easy. The camp host was patrolling around often, and noise from other campers was never an issue. Bathrooms and showers were in good condition. The shower was warm and ran off a timer. Not a problem though. Cell phone reception wasn't great, but I enjoyed that and it helped me keep the phone out of my hand. Just enjoyed the outside more. Coming from Dallas it is a quick and easy trip and we are looking forward to camping here again.

Wonderful, heavily wooded campground. Interesting venues around Sulphuric to learn the history of the Chickasaw Indians, the CCC camps and their lasting heritage.
Very clean restrooms. A little challenging for big rigs due to narrow roads and tree limbs.

The on-site rangers were extremely helpful. We had rented a RV for the first time and had a few hitches to deal with. Helped us with black water dump clog and problems sliding out room extension to mention two issues! Site was A+ for handicap and beautiful.

The campsite was spectacular, my site was right on the water. This was my first visit to Chickasaw so I was a little disappointed that pretty much the only activities to do are water-based. I had hoped for some more hiking. Visiting all of the springs was a good hike, I would recommend it, but otherwise the trails were pretty mediocre. After hiking all of the trails and with very few other options for entertainment (it was October and around 40 degrees so we couldn't go swimming,) I learned how to fish from the bank near my campsite, which was a lot more fun that I had expected it to be. In just a few hours, I caught at least 5 perch and a bluegill (I think it was a bluegill, but I'm not an ichthyologist haha.) I cannot attest to how good the bass fishing is or if you'll be successful catching fish big enough to eat, but as a complete beginner I will say that catching a bunch of little fish on the shore of the beautiful lake while watching the birds was a surprisingly fun way to spend my trip. The most important thing to me was that the fish were biting frequently enough that it wasn't boring.

Other than that, the bathrooms are spectacular (for a public park.) Easily the nicest bathrooms I've used in any state or national park. Bring a hammer if you're in a tent to drive the stakes down. We had to use rocks because we forgot our hammer and the ground too solid to drive them in with our body weight. If you stay on the lakefront, prepare for the wind. Even after staking our tent down completely, it collapsed under the wind on a particularly windy day. We ended up adding an extra guy line to keep it up. Also, the temperature on the waterfront sites is several degrees colder than those sites behind trees, pack an extra jacket and wear layers!

We found this place quite by accident, hoping to camp in the Arbuckle Mountains that we had driven through several times but never explored. We were so happy with the beautiful setting and facilities! Our rig is 36’, and leveling was difficult, but we managed. I wouldn’t have wanted to be in anything much bigger in our site. We spent a day exploring the park, and the rangers at the Travertine Nature Center went above and beyond to provide information. We finished our day at a wine tasting in town- very nice. A beautiful place to enjoy nature!

It was an awesome campsite the first night and second day but Saturday night and Sunday morning another camper allowed their dog off leash to rummage thru EVERYONES camp sites and they had no regard for other people. And not to mention we were told to make sure we were quiet after 10pm the night before as voices carry and Saturday night NO one was patrolling like the night before and people were SOO loud up until 3 am.
