It was an awesome campsite the first night and second day but Saturday night and Sunday morning another camper allowed their dog off leash to rummage thru EVERYONES camp sites and they had no regard for other people. And not to mention we were told to make sure we were quiet after 10pm the night before as voices carry and Saturday night NO one was patrolling like the night before and people were SOO loud up until 3 am.

Have tent camped at Chickasaw all 4 seasons. Excellent locations, well kept, well maintained. Good views, access to lake, wildlife close encounters (not to close) in all season's. Buckhorn is remote enough to have a great experience, yet close enough to enjoy Sulphur's historic area and shops. The Nature center is definitely a must, and not just for kids. Small rapids All sites have level picnic areas, but some RV site pull in's may be difficult to level larger RV's in. Host was present, friendly, and available. Public areas, showers, restrooms immaculate as always Visited during Covid so during week was calm, weekend limited spaces for distancing filled up quick.

Absolutely no internet service. As a parent, this is kinda vital just in case we need to call for help and I did not like that. Also if u have children, watch them on their bikes, lots of steel hills.
Lots of beautiful trees! Wonderful bathrooms with showers, everything was very clean!
Town was close, 15mins drive...they had a Walmart if u need supplies.
We played at the elementary school playground, lots of space to run around n play. We have younger children, so this was nice! We also found trails in town to ride bikes.
Arbuckle wilderness park is very close as well.

If you’re into string lights, and RV noise this is the place for you. I mean it’s nice outside time, but it was at least 10pm before it was vaguely quiet enough to sleep with the RVs all around humming. Will probably never tent camp around here again.

What a wonderful place to camp! Our tent was about 30 feet from the lake. Although it was August, the morning temperatures were around 70F, with a nice breeze. Our campsite was heavily shaded with a large area for the tent. Our only complaint was the abundance of flies. Most of the time, they were not a nuisance, but during mealtimes, they were horrendous. Great birdwatching, kayaking but not many hiking trails. Very peaceful, relaxing camping trip overall.

Great place to camp. wish it was closer to the Platt National Park Historic District. Road was a bit tight in areas for my 41' coach. Would definitely stay there again.
