Enjoyed Crane Prairie Campground Blue Loop. This loop is near one of the boat docks and shore line. Site was clean and near restroom. Camp, kayak, paddleboard and hike in the area.

Camp host was very lovely and helpful, although charged a lot for our extra car which hasn’t happened at other campgrounds we’ve been to. Campground is very large but doesn’t feel super large, our site was very spacious, bathrooms were clean for the most part and cleaned regularly. Water from campground was not potable and looked to be directly from the reservoir with algae, dirt, etc. Crane prairie has great fishing but lots of old fallen trees in the water make it difficult to navigate by boat. LOTS of fire ants literally everywhere -giant mounds of them- was EXTREMELY unpleasant, they are all around the campsites and on the beaches of the reservoir which makes it impossible to truly enjoy the water. Forestry has tried to keep them localized so they were not on our camp site directly and were taped off with caution tape but they are all over the shore at the campsite beach. View from the campsite of the local mountain peaks was gorgeous.

This place is incredible! We would come back in a heartbeat. We stayed in the blue loop and walked to a little cove with calm water sheltered from the wind. A great place for fishing, swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking. We stayed in spot 78 and 80 and enjoyed amazing views of the lake. Lots of bugs, but we didn't care because it was so beautiful.

Usually we would have been camping several times here by now but because of the reservations only, we haven't been able to find sites with more than a couple of days open at a time. Also, getting charged not only the $8 registration fee, which we lose if we cancel a reservation, they are charging a $10 fee.

There was a mixup in our campspot due to a couple of extra days we booked....and someone else did too apparently? This seemed to be happening alot thru the campground. First time ever. Hosts seemed to let people "get away" with some things. Parking as much as would fit in a campsite.....filling a campsite that said not available. A little too lenient. Glad glad glad to see the pyramid ants were being addressed finally. We've been going there over 40 yeasrs and they've gotten worse and worse to the point you don't want to go anymore. We had an extra car in our site that wasn't collected for until the day after the extra car left. Hosts weren't around much. The fishing here is always wonderful and the campground is the best! We'd never miss a year!

Our site was facing the wrong way on a one way road, ran the road backwards, was not able to fit into the site even know registration said 60 foot driveway.. I have a 26 foot trailer.

The host was amazing! She moved us to a site that was way better, and was informative and helpful.

The lake is nice, but there are lot’s of ants and mosquitoes at the campground. The scenery is beautiful, the facilities are OK. There is a marina nearby where you can rent boats and kayaks.

The pit toilets were unbearably smelly and campsite was extremely dusty. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and fishing at the lake.

It would have been better if they had mentioned that there was a start of an algae bloom. There were two dogs that I heard of that were sick in Bend Oregon from Crane Prairie. It would be nice to have been advised because my dogs were there the same time.
