What Guests Are Saying
Crane Prairie Campground is highly praised for its beautiful scenery, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, making it a great destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Campers enjoyed the spacious sites, access to the lake for activities like fishing and kayaking, and the peaceful atmosphere. However, some issues were noted, including mosquitoes, occasional noise from generators, and recent problems with the availability of drinking water, which could impact the overall experience.

I was very disappointed to find out that the water supply refill station as I entered. The campground was turned off. I have been going up there for 30 years and I plan on getting my water topped off at the campground in my RV mid week.. I was told some lie about how the water Spicket was broken. The regional manager had covered it up with a plastic bag, but I went over and tried it in the water works just fine.. I spoke with the regional manager, and she said it was turned off because it was being abused by people filling up there trailers, motorhomes, and RVs. I thought this was the purpose for the water Spicket There is a designated parking spot.. the problem is people outside of the campground, filling their water there and they should post a sign with a fine like the garbage sign or with a code with the camp host has to control who uses it I
having your available is an expectation, and I feel that he is part of the fee that I pay for when I pay for my campground fee. I think this problem needs to be investigated and a solution to be found other than just covering up the water and not making. available.

We've been coming over 40 years - I love that the ants are getting under control. They were getting so very bad. The restrooms were nice and fresh and clean so the hosts are doing a great job there. We did notice the potable water wasn't available and were glad we didn't bring our trailer as we use that to fill it up. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.

We love the campground setting! The water supply is in desperate need of repair. The campgrounds were very clean. Great job hosts!

Great campground, we loved being close to the water where we could swim and boat for our 3 days there. It has a small store there to get all the necessary things you might need being there overnight or longer like ice, fire wood, drinks, store supplies, etc. Only down side was there were a-lot of mosquitoes during our trip, not sure if it was just timing of our trip or not but make sure you pack spray and such just incase. There are also a lot of these certain kind of ants but they do post about them and where to avoid, they were not as bothersome as the mosquitoes. All in all we had a great trip and would consider returning again!

Great weather, great spot next to water. Campsites are a little close to each other.

The campground and location are great - no issue there. Busy Memorial Day weekend, sure, full campground. But what is completely unacceptable is that the bathrooms were not attended to for THREE DAYS after the weekend, leaving them all without toilet paper. Complete staffing fail ! TP was restocked after we complained to the Forest Service who oversee this campground but that should not have been necessary.

We've been family camping at Crane Prairie almost 50 years. It's so beautiful and the fishing is wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised to see less ant hills so we're happy you're addressing that. It was odd this year probably from the heat but there were more of the spiders that float down from the trees than we've ever seen before and so many giant webs in the trees. Luckily they don't bother you except they are everywhere this year. Hopefully it's a once every 50 year thing!!!! Crane prairie never disappoints. The hosts have always been wonderful and restrooms as clean as they can keep them though some campers don't help with that. The folks that run the lodge were very pleasant as well. We will never stop coming!
