Elk Lake Campground offers a beautiful and relaxing setting with great access to the lake, and visitors appreciate the close proximity to a nearby resort with food and activities. While many campers enjoyed their stays, highlighting the cleanliness of the campground and the helpfulness of the camp host, there were some concerns about site conditions, restroom cleanliness, and a lack of water supply. Overall, the campground is seen as a nice spot for camping and outdoor activities, with some areas for improvement.

George the camp host was very accommodating and kind. The campground is beautiful and shared utilities i.e. bathrooms and water faucets were kept very clean. We ended up staying an additional night and we'll definitely be back again!

The hike around the lake is amazing and just about 5 mi, the restaurant and showers are a nice option at the resort when needed right next door to the camp ground.

This is the first year without a campground host. This campground gets many many people and there is definitely the need!
The reservation system just does not work! 25% of the campsites reserved were empty! Without a camp ground host they can at least make adjustments if no one shows so the camp site is open. People who make reservations and no show need to be fined! With the demand for camping having grown exponentially adjustments have to be made. We have been to this campground every year for the last 42 years! Unfortunately the system regulating the camp ground now is not camper friendly.
In addition there was a broken water line right in the middle of our campsite. We were there one week and no came to repair it. It was a huge tripping hazard!

It was disappointing to see campsites not being utilized when they could have been. The beach was great and we had a ton of fun! It would be nice if the reservation system actually worked.

Site 11 should not be listed as a trailer or RV friendly site, we have a pop up and we could barely get turned around in the little turn around area by the site. It was also unclear as to where the parking spot for the site actually was. The parking spot we ended up using faced out into the turn around area and there was a tent site directly next to us as well. This site would be great as a tent site though, it is on the end and has a trail down to the water!
