Typically one is afraid of being next to the rowdy campsite in this case we were!!!! We were next to the campground host which were the nosiest in camp did not follow quiet hours and moved several family members into there site. I wonder if they paid the extra vehicle fee ? Like they made us do when someone showed up for a visit. Campground is one of our favorites but wont be back next year if the same hosts are there

Had reservations at Quinn River then was going to Lava Lake. Arrived at Lava Lake to find the water system non- functional and the Host had abruptly pulled out, both features are why I choose to stay at this campground. I did not stay, I went back to my site at Quinn River and paid for additional day there. I contacted Rec.gov, filed a complaint and requested a refund based on failure to have features standard at the facility. Refund was awarded. Had hoped that Deschutes Recreation operations would be significantly better than the sub-standard performance by Hoodoo Recreations in the past, but Deschutes performance at Lava Lake was absolutely unacceptable. In My opinion USFS should RFP for campground operation in the Deschutes National Forest and replace Deschutes Recreation as the vendor for these facilities

Great place to have a quiet camp and sites are good size. The lake is a quite lake no recreation water craft only fishing and no beach front but about 20 minutes away is a happening beach front and another across the lake at a public resort set up.
