Nice quite campground. We got a camp site no. 028. It’s a big site with 5 minutes’ walk to boat launch. There is a restroom close by. We were there on early July which is very hot during a day and close to 30’F at night. We and our dog had great time kayaking in both Lave Lake and Little Lava lake.

Although Lava Lake had a bad algae bloom, we enjoyed kayaking with stunning views of Mt. Bachelor and other peaks. We saw many breeds of birds, including Osprey, Bald Eagles, Great blue heron, Kingfisher, Mergansers, Cormorants, Stellar Jay, Killdeer, and Canada geese. We enjoyed short mountain bike trips to Little Lave Lake, and hiked to Lucky Lake from the campgrounds. It was a bit chilly at 5000 feet, as our camper was 43 degrees one morning, but that's mountain air for you!

The campground was nice, the site large and comfortable. We used the dump station at the Resort (10.00) which worked well. Having the Resort store within walking distance was perfect. (for ice)

The campsite and outhouse were clean. Kayaking was great. There was A blue green algae bloom in the lake. It was posted only as a possibly. Dogs were not safe to swim. Camp ground staff were polite and informative.
