About Limberlost Campground

After a fun filled day exploring the area, relax and fall asleep to the sound of the babbling Lost Creek at this secluded and quiet Group site that's made up of 12 sites. Towering Douglas fir and cedar trees surround this small, rustic and compact campground. The campground’s name was derived from "Girl of the Limberlost," a classic novel by American writer and naturalist, Gene Stratton-Porter. The campground offers vault toilets and garbage service. Each campsite includes a fire ring and picnic table. There is no drinking water available at the campground. Firewood is available at Olallie Campground. Hikers, swimmers, and anglers alike will delight with nearby Three Sisters Wilderness Area, Mt. Washington Wilderness, and Lost Creek. Those interested in relaxing will enjoy a soak in nearby Belknap Hot Springs. If you have an interest in biking, several trails outside of the Wilderness areas are available.

The facility was lovely. Quiet, clean, and pretty well stocked with two-ply paper upon our arrival. However. No one cleaned the restrooms the entire three night stay. Also, the campground has no signage to indicate it is reservation only, group site. Every time the gate was open (we had to keep it closed but unlocked the whole weekend) randos would drive in looking for a place to setup. They were generally understanding of the group reservation deal. But, given it was Memorial Day Weekend, every time the gate was left open, someone(s) would drive in.

Aside from that, the campground is very quiet before the highway 242 snow gates are opened. Very little motor vehicle traffic. Lots of quiet cyclists. A few of the camp sites are large enough for group campfire time (8 and 12). Overall, a sweet deal for the price.

The most beautiful, private experience. Our group was taken care of so well by our visiting camp host.

Fuzzy trees,babbling river...magical.

The campground is beautiful and quiet-- perfect for the needs of our groups! The restrooms were super clean and Belinda is a great host, always checking in when needed. We love it and plan to continue to use it for our cycling groups. Thank you!

This campground is WONDERFUL! It was clean, well managed, kept up, quiet, and perfect for groups. The vault toilets were the cleanest vault toilets I have ever done my business in.

We were so pleased with our experience when we left, we immediately started planning our next visit. The campground host, Belinda, was incredibly accommodating and thoughtful. She came each day to freshen up and restock the bathroom, and offered potable water to the other campers.

The only issue we had during our time was people unaffiliated with our group. They walked into the camp, looked around at all of the spaces (including used spaces), used the bathroom, tried to have picnics in unused spots, etc. When it was explained that the campground was privately rented and that they were not allowed to be there, they seemed persistent in wanting to stay and keep poling around. People, am I right?

Camp Host Belinda was excellent, checking in on us everyday and keeping the campground safe with fire buckets and servicing the facilities. Campground was clean, quiet, and without drama. Such an excellent location!

We had our annual extended family camping weekend here and it was a great experience.
The campground was perfect, lots of individual sites so everyone had plenty of personal camping space, but we used three central sites as the kitchen and campfire area.
Lost creek burbles along right next to the campground and massive trees everywhere creating an exceptional environment.
The camp host, Belinda, was a joy and came by to check in on us and clean the pit toilets every day. Asking if we needed anything from Mackenzie Bridge and supplying fresh drinking water.

All in all an amazing experience. We will be staying here again. Highly recommended.
